Artist’s Statement

Woman: Undefined is a collection of abstract, multimedia pieces endeavoring to deconstruct womanhood as a particular shape or role and represent it as the essence of a person. The work centres around intersectional feminism, nature and human form.

  1. I like the color palette and vigor. I feel I’m witnessing a fight worth having. The word Woman in black and white, the feathery forms in the vertical image, everything seems to be furthering the struggle of becoming. The vitality reminds me of Cecily Brown. The first work reminds me of cuts of meat, and I love that sense of sectioning. The only thing I would like to have had? The titles of each work.
